Description Philipp Priebe – Ectoplasmatic Friends EP // Stólar – STÓ003 Berlin-based Philipp Priebe delivers the Ectoplasmatic Friends EP via his imprint Stólar. Since launching the label in March 2020, Stólar has established a sonic identity rooted in emotive deep house, dub-inflected techno, and hypnotic electronica. The imprint has primarily served as a platform for Priebe’s own productions, while also featuring remixes from artists such as Kim Brown, Metome, and others. With Ectoplasmatic Friends, Priebe continues this trajectory, presenting two original compositions alongside remixes from Tilman and Lifestyles. The EP opens with the original mix of Dial 7 For Ghosts, built around a robust drum groove, swirling resonant synth lines, and layered vocal chants. As the track progresses, warm atmospheric chord sequences gradually emerge, guiding the composition toward a deeper, expansive close. Tilman’s interpretation follows, steering the track into a soul-infused house direction, merging airy textures and bumpy drums with vocal stabs and a classic house bassline. On the B-side, Lifestyles rework introduces amen breaks, warped effects on the original pad line, and a more dynamic rhythmic drive. The second original, An Image Slowly Fades, closes the EP with cinematic and melancholic synth textures, low-pitched ghostly vocals, and grounded, low-slung drums. Tracklist: A1.
